National All-Styles Martial Arts
On 16 October, Skyla and Kalon competed at the Queensland State Titles for NAS (National All-Styles Martial Arts), a non-contact competition at Carrara Stadium on the Gold Coast.
Skyla received a bronze medal and an encouragement award for Point Sparring at NAS, Round 3. Kalon received a gold, two silvers and a bronze for Point-Sparring and Kata during the NAS qualifying rounds.
Skyla was unlucky at State finals coming up against the National title holder in her first spar but showed great technique and was commendable in her efforts.
Kalon received a third place trophy for Point-Sparring. Based on his performance throughout the year, Kalon is still currently ranked first in the Pee-Wee Division in Queensland. He has now qualified to compete at the NAS National Championships held in Melbourne on 26 and 27 November, where he will be defending his National Title for Point-Sparring.
