Megan Perring

My name is Megan Perring and I have taught in many and varied school settings both in Queensland and NSW as a classroom teacher, Reading Recovery teacher and Learning and Support teacher. I returned to the North Coast with my family in 1998 and have been the Learning and Support teacher at Wyrallah Road Public School since this time. I am also the Assistant Principal for Kindergarten and relieving Deputy Principal one day a week. This year I will be supporting both the classroom teacher and the children during Language, Learning and Literacy (L3) in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2. I look forward to working closely with the staff and students to provide explicit, timely and individualised support to ensure the children realise their capabilities in their literacy development and achievement.

I believe learning and wellbeing are intricately linked. Students learn best when their wellbeing is optimised, and they develop a strong sense of wellbeing when they experience success in learning. All children can learn given the appropriate support, a stimulating and challenging environment with high expectations of their success. Hence I will continue in my role as the coordinator of both the Learning and Support team and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) team and my commitment to ensuring our school provides a supportive, stimulating and inspiring learning environment for all children.
