The Learning and Support teachers at WRPS are Bobbie Harris and Fay Browning. Our role is to provide direct and timely specialist assistance to students in regular classes with disability and additional learning and support needs and their teachers. Our work emphasises:
- the needs of individual students
- school priorities, and
-evidence-based programs to assist students with additional learning and support needs.
We, teachers and students at WRPS teachers are backed up and supported by a wonderful team of SLSO's including Jamie, Kath, Nora, Serena, Silvana, Steve, Jada and Sue. Our team of SLSO's provide in class support and are also trained to delivery programs in reading instruction.
Our team is implementing many learning programs to support the students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Additionally, Fay supports our English as an Additional Dialect (EAL/D) students, offering specific support to students for whom English is an additional language or dialect. Learning English is essential for success at school and for further education. Student support aims to develop EAL/D students' English language competence and improve their learning outcomes throughout the curriculum to a level where they can fully participate in schooling and independently pursue further education and training.
