Megan Bennett

Hello, my name is Megan Bennett, and I am thrilled to be a Learning and Support Teacher at Wyrallah Road Public School this year.

I grew up in Lismore, moved away for study and work, and returned in 2018 with my family. Teaching is my second career. After graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering, I worked for over 20 years around Australia protecting and/or rehabilitating the environment from the impact of industries such as coal mining, road construction, ski resorts and remote island tourism.

While living and working as a Ranger on Lord Howe Island, I started volunteering at my children’s school and realised that I felt very comfortable in the school environment. I studied by distance from the Island and graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) from Charles Sturt University in 2017. I have been teaching at Wyrallah Road Public School since 2018.

I love to read, sing, go hiking, camping, paddling, garden and travel.

My aim as a teacher is to support every student to have success. I help students thrive through strong respectful relationships and engaging learning experiences. I try to let each child know that I see them and value their uniqueness.
