Gareth Hockings
My name is Gareth Hockings and I am proud to be the Principal of Wyrallah Road Public School. After completing studies in both Environmental Science and Education I began my teaching career at La Perouse, working with a vibrant Aboriginal community in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. From there I moved to lead and teach at Croppa Creek, a small school near Moree. Since then I have gone on to work in schools all over New South Wales as well as teaching in Mongolia and South Korea.
Wyrallah Road is the fourth school I have had the privilege of leading and I have been here since 2013. I am passionate about providing opportunities for children and creating an environment where all students feel welcomed, valued and safe.
I have travelled extensively and believe that spending time with other people and cultures is a powerful learning experience. I love spending time with my family and together we are often found at the beach, bushwalking or camping.
