Jason Earley

My name is Jason Earley and I feel fortunate to be teaching a terrific Year 2 class at Wyrallah Road Public School in 2019. It’s also encouraging for me to be working alongside plenty of talented, supportive and enthusiastic staff too. Before beginning my teaching career in my early 30s I worked in many and varied vocations, completed several tertiary qualifications and was fortunate enough to travel extensively around the world and Australia. I returned to this region with my small and growing family in 2016 after teaching in Western Australia for eight amazing years. In the rural and remote townships of Exmouth and Kalbarri, I taught students from Years 1-8. At both these idyllic places I had the specialised role of Primary Science Coordinator and was also the ‘classroom’ teacher for classes from Years 2-5. Since moving back to Northern NSW I have taught at several public and private sector schools, most recently spending two rewarding years teaching Years 4-5 classes at Yamba Public School.

I always put plenty of effort into my work and I have high expectations of the students that I share a classroom with. We learn together, in a positive and safe environment that fosters caring, respect and fun! Parents and the broader community are encouraged to be a part of this important learning journey as I value cooperation between our school and the community. This year I am excited to be contributing my experience and expertise to several ‘teams’ at WRPS; these include Aboriginal Education, Learning and Support, Positive Behaviour For Learning and supporting the learning of Gifted and Talented Students. I look forward to having a constructive and positive effect at school.

When I am not busy working I enjoy spending time with my family, surfing with mates, traveling whenever possible and generally enjoying quiet times, nature, music and the company of positive people.
