Hakea Sweeney

My name is Hakea Sweeney and I joined the Wyrallah Road Public School team at the end of 2018.

I completed my Bachelor of Education (P-12) majoring in English and Humanities at Victoria University in 2008. My adventurous spirit took me teaching in Pinjarra, Halls Creek and One Arm Point in Western Australia as well as Geelong in Victoria. I have worked as a high school English and Humanities teacher, primary school teacher, Head of Teaching in a lower secondary, as well as Speech and Debating Coach and Student Council Coordinator. I have been involved in many committees including transition, technology and PBL.

As a teacher I am passionate about Indigenous education, literacy and student leadership. I strive to provide an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students.

My hobbies are writing, art, reading, travel, spending time in the bush and with family.
